Clare Connelly is an Adelaide based mother of two with more than one hundred full length romance novels under her belt. In 2014, Clare self-published her first book and was pleasantly surprised when it sold well! Over the next few years, Clare established a solid readership on Amazon and became an Amazon All-Star in the UK and the US (one of the top selling Amazon exclusive authors). In 2016, Clare accepted a contract with Harlequin Mills & Boon and has since published more than forty titles with them, whilst continuing to publish indie titles. She also writes a feel-good small-town series for Tule.
Writing romance is all Clare has ever really known she wanted to do. As a fifteen year old, she wrote her first full length romance novel and submitted it to Mills & Boon. It was wisely rejected. Some requisite life experiences (ahem) were yet to be had!
At university, about a thousand years ago, Clare studied law, but abandoned the degree for the far more exhilarating prospect of living and working in London with her now-husband. There, she worked in legal recruitment and had plenty of grist to the mill for the books she’d eventually write, travelling through Europe whenever possible and committing absolutely every detail she could to memory.
Now, Clare writes in between doing the school run, making lunch boxes that her children barely touch, and takes long walks on the beach to untangle any of those knotty little plot problems. A QLD native, she’s become a devout South Australian thanks, in (large) part, to the fabulous food and wine–the central markets are a firm favourite!
Clare Connelly books are angst-filled and escapist (no covid, no worrying about paying bills!).
Her books are available in many languages, as well as in audio. She lives to read and write, and also loves teaching all things writing, talking about words and helping people gain the confidence to finish their own book.
